Iran’s retaliation grows stronger.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense confirmed that several US military aircraft crashed on Monday. All crew members survived the incidents. The confirmation came after videos circulated online showing an F-15 fighter jet spiraling down over Kuwait with flames coming from its rear. A pilot could be seen parachuting safely to the ground.
According to CNN, Colonel Said Al-Atwan, the spokesperson for Kuwait’s defense ministry, said authorities launched search-and-rescue operations right away. He confirmed that crews were taken from the crash sites and transferred to a hospital, where all of them are now in stable condition. Al-Atwan also said Kuwait is in “direct coordination” with US authorities about the incidents.
The ministry gave no explanation for why the aircraft went down. Unconfirmed reports suggest the incident may have involved friendly fire. Iran also claimed on Monday that it shot down an F-15 fighter jet. Neither the US nor Israel has officially confirmed the crash or Iran’s claims.
The crashes remain unexplained as the US-Israel war with Iran enters its third day
The crashes happened as the US-Israel conflict with Iran entered its third day. The conflict began on Saturday when US-Israel missile strikes hit government buildings in Tehran and Iranian military bases. Iran also shut down a critical global oil chokepoint on Saturday, though some tankers continued to push through.
Iran responded with missile and armed drone attacks aimed at Tel Aviv and American military bases across the region. Iran-backed Hezbollah has also joined the fighting. On the first day of the conflict, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed after missiles struck a compound in central Tehran.
Intelligence sources said this was the result of “months of intelligence planning.” President Trump commented on Truth Social, calling Khamenei “one of the most evil people…” Trump has faced criticism over striking Iran without congressional approval, with members of both parties pushing back.
The war has caused major disruption for civilians across affected countries. On Monday, explosions were heard across major cities in the Gulf region. Air raid sirens sounded in Jerusalem after the Israeli military detected missiles launched from Iran. Dubai’s airport was shut down for several hours.
A luxury hotel in Dubai was hit by an Iranian missile. Tehran also claimed that a US-Israel missile struck a school in Minab, killing over 160 people, including children. So far, over 200 casualties have been confirmed, but human rights organizations warn the actual death toll could be much higher.
