1. Springlands Fishing Dock
This spot feels intentionally designed for an early-game base. It comes with a built-in dock and a wide, flat stretch of land that is easily accessible and suitable for building on. This area sits between Westcott and Ferndale in the Springlands biome, just south of the Ancient Vault of the Farmer. It is quiet, scenic, and perfect for anyone starting fresh.
2. Vault of the Hunter Mini Retreat
West of the Ancient Vault of the Hunter is a small retreat with a pond and a pre-built mini cave you can convert into your base after clearing it. The nearby cliff offers a great view of the Low Meadow, and the terrain is forgiving for early builds. This one sits between the vault and the Springlands Tower.
3. Southern Island Pond
This large southern pond even includes a small island in the center, which makes it ideal for a coastal-style base. Copper and clay from the nearby Revelwoods are close, and Fort Kelvin gives access to early building blocks. A small prefab nearby can be rebuilt into a fishing hut. Look just below the Alchemist Tower on the map near Fort Kelvin and the Mistbury Catacombs.

4. Revelwood Clifftop Waterfall
This dramatic clifftop retreat in the Revelwood Forest overlooks rolling rivers of Shroud Fog and includes its own waterfall. The terrain is uneven, but the payoff for vertical builds is massive. It is located northeast of the Revelwood fast travel tower.
5. Nomad Highlands Archway Lake
The Nomad Highlands received major improvements with the water update, and this archway lake is one of the best examples. A flat stone surface sits on top of massive arches with a lake running underneath and a bridge splitting the area. This location sits near the Trade Outpost “Blazing Rock” and the Pillars of Creation.
6. Nomad Highlands Plateau Pond
South of Umber Hollow is another large pond location with a wide flat plateau overlooking the water. It includes a small dock and sits close to Kindle Waste for easy biome hopping. This location offers far more space than most mid-tier base spots.

7. Kindle Waste Clifftop Oasis
This desert oasis sits high above the Kindle Waste and offers iron, sulfur, and lapis nearby. The land is relatively flat and includes two stone towers built into the terrain. The views of the Albaneve Summits are especially impressive. You will find this near the Kindle Waste Tower along the outer edge of the map.
8. Wyvern Arena Dome
The Wyvern Arena features one of the best desert prefabs in the game. Inside the dome are four decorated bedrooms, a bar that works well as storage, and several rooms perfect for crafting benches. A lush oasis sits just outside. This is located west of the Kindle Waste fast travel tower near the first iron deposits.
9. Marble Quarry Ice Lake
With some of Albeneve thawed by the water update, this icy lake beside the Marble Quarry is now a fantastic mountain base option. A waterfall feeds directly into the lake, and the surrounding area is packed with valuable resources. Look near Camellia Lake Marble Quarry, west of the Albaneve fast travel tower.
Max Level Veil Water Bases
10. Fish Farm
Despite the name, Fish Farm is one of the most visually striking prefabs in the game. The structure is covered in climbing flowers and includes a built-in bedroom. With some repairs and creative flooring, it becomes a beautiful waterside retreat. It is located at Starfish Shores in the north of Veilwater Basin.
11. Cliffside Temple Tower
Near the Capybara Oasis is a high cliffside structure that works perfectly for a temple-style build. A nearby wind gusher allows for fast vertical travel, and the cliff face gives full freedom for custom tower designs.
12. Orville Village
Orville is a massive pre-built village with water wheels, gardens, and multiple decorated homes. With enough claim coverage, it can be turned into a full NPC town. This location sits east of the Veilwater Basin Tower and may require two max claims.
13. Dewdrop Farm
Dewdrop Farm is a charming hilltop farm with a windmill and a three-story house that includes a basement. It offers more than enough space to build a personal village and sits just north of the Veilwater Basin fast travel tower.
14. Darkwater Tower
This rustic stone tower near the entrance of the Gateway Outpost “Darkwater” contains a Roman-style bathhouse with a functional wave machine inside. It is a unique prefab with great views of the surrounding water and plenty of room to remodel. It sits in the Dragondream Lake area and southeast of Lake Heartblood.
15. Capybara Oasis Base
This flat settlement zone beneath the Capybara Falls is one of the most aesthetically pleasing water builds in the update. An archway, river path, and cascading waterfall combine to make it an ideal late-game settlement foundation, and my personal favorite.
