Crimson Desert Has Already Passed 2-million Copies Sold – WGB

Well, I’m glad to say that my earlier bit of news, where I speculated the game’s sales were already likely in the millions, has proven to be pretty spot-on. Yes, I’m tooting my own horn here. But also, I’m tooting Crimson Desert‘s horn because damn, those are some strong figures.

According to developer and publisher Pear Abyss, Crimson Desert has already sold 2+ million copies, after just a day of being on sale.

They also promise to “work to make improvements quickly” which is probably a good idea because the game’s current Steam rating is mixed, and one of the biggest reasons for that seems to be the weird control scheme. However, a control scheme fix will likely take some time.

There’s also an issue with the fact that the game doesn’t support Intel GPUs, something which apparently was not announced prior to launch. While it only affects a fairly small portion of the market, it was utterly baffling not to clearly list Intel GPUs as not being supported well before launch.

The other elephant in the room is whether the strong sales numbers will help the company’s stock price bounce back up after it took a 30% drop following the initial reviews, which were actually pretty good, but clearly did not match up to the insane hype the game was getting prior to launch.
