The Cayo Perico Heist is the most profitable heist in GTA 5 Online, especially if you can do it solo while remaining in stealth for the Elite Challenge.
That said, it’s not a super easy heist to master if you don’t know exactly what to do and where to go! But, with our help and some practice, we’re sure you can clear it in minutes while getting the max payout each time!

Solo Cayo Perico Heist Guide | Stealth + Elite
Preparation and Elite Challenge Requirements
First of all, before the Cayo Perico Heist proper, you’ll have to do the setup missions as usual. For this one, we recommend doing the following prep:
- Approach Vehicles – Boat: Longfin
- Equipment – Plasma Cutter, Fingerprint Cloner, Cutting Torch
- Weapon Loadout – Aggressor
While you’re doing the intel gathering missions, you should also make sure to dive into the water on the southern part of Cayo Perico. This will unlock the Drainage Tunnel entrance for you, which will come in handy later.
Aside from that, the primary target for the heist varies randomly, based on what you discover during the prep missions. That said, here’s a quick chart of each target’s worth:

Primary target aside, the secondary targets also vary each time. Again, you should have discovered which ones they are and their locations during the intel gathering prep mission. Regardless, here’s a quick chart of each secondary target type and their properties:

With all of that said, here’s a quick list of the recommended setup for the heist finale:
- Approach Vehicle – Longfin
- Infiltration Point – Main Dock
- Compound Entry Point – Drainage Tunnel
- Escape Point – Any
- Time of Day – Any
- Weapon Loadout – Aggressor + Suppressors
Lastly, here’s the list of requirements you need to meet to get the Elite Challenge bonus:
- Complete under 15 minutes.
- Full loot bag. Grab secondary targets to fill it.
- Do not die.
- Do not get caught.
- Do not fail any hacks.
With all of that said, it’s time for you to go into the Cayo Perico heist finale proper!
Starting the Heist
As soon as the heist starts, follow the route on the clip above to go straight to the air strip. Make sure to park your boat using the rock there, as it can prevent it from floating away too far.
At the airstrip, eliminate the first guard patrolling in front of the hangar with the potential secondary target spawn locations. Then, enter the hangar and loot it, using the forklift and a crate to reach the upper floor if needed.
Once that’s done, go south to reach the second hangar with potential secondary target spawns. Get on top of the house there and use the vantage point to take down the nearby guard and camera.
As you go to loot the secondary targets, make sure the other nearby guard is far away. If he’s too close, he can hear you cutting the lock open!
By this point, you should’ve ensured that your loot bag is full of secondary loot targets. Then, go back to your Longfin and drive it all the way to the southernmost part of the island. Dive underwater there and cut the grate open to enter the compound itself.
Cayo Perico Compound Stealth
Once you’re inside the compound, follow the route shown on the map above to go straight to Rubio’s office.
As you do this, pay attention to the minimap and make sure that you don’t walk into the line-of-sight (blue cone) of any of the guards. That said, there shouldn’t be too many tricky guards on this particular route.
When you enter Rubio’s office, open the safe to your right first. It gives you some bonus cash, so you might as well. Then, do the fingerprint clone hacking minigame next to the minigame. Remember not to fail this if you want to do the Elite Challenge!
If you need help with the minigame, the clip above shows a simple trick. Just set all parts of the fingerprint to the top part of the finger, then go down, moving them all to the right in increments of 1. This will guarantee an easy fingerprint each time.
After you take the elevator down, you just need to approach the glass box where the primary target is. Cut it open by using the cutter, just pay attention to the heat bar on the bottom right of the screen. Don’t let it overheat and you’re fine!
Escaping Cayo Perico
With the primary target in your possession, it’s time to escape! Follow the route above for a very easy escape out of the compound.
Just make sure to press the interact button (right on the d-pad with a controller, E key on PC) as you approach the main gate. This will allow you to escape without getting caught, even if a guard sees you for a split second!
Once outside the main compound, run straight forward and to your left. Take out the guard there and steal his bike, then drive straight northwest into the sea.
Then, just dive underwater and use the rebreather to have enough air to keep swimming. Just keep swimming away straight ahead and you’ll eventually escape Cayo Perico as easily as that!
If everything went right during the run, you should’ve completed the Elite Challenges and earned a Stealth bonus. This can give you a bit over $2,000,000 on a Hard mode run targeting the Panther Statue.
So, there you have it! That’s all you need to do to ace the Cayo Perico Heist solo in GTA 5 Online while also maintaining Stealth and completing all Elite Challenges.
