Starfield Reportedly Launching On PS5 In April

A new report from an outlet with a solid track record claims that Starfield, currently an Xbox and PC only RPG, is finally making the leap to Sony’s PlayStation 5 console next month. This follows years of rumors that such a port was happening.

On March 2, games journalist Billbil-kun over at French outlet Dealabs confirmed preivous rumors about Starfield coming to PS5 soon. According to their sources, Bethesda’s space RPG is set to launch on PS5 on April 7. There will be a physical version of Starfield available on that date as well, at least in Europe. A previous report claimed Starfield would arrive on PS5 in 2026.

Dealabs expects pre-orders for Starfield to go live around March 18, 2026.

Interestingly, Dealabs reports that Starfield on PS5 will be, in Europe at least, cheaper at launch to buy than when it arrived in 2023 on Xbox and PC. The outlet claims that Starfield‘s standard edition will be €49.99 / £44.99, about $60 USD. Meanwhile, the Premium Edition will reportedly cost €69.99 / £59.99 at launch. That’s roughly $82 USD. Currently, the standard edition of Starfield in France is £80, and the Premium edition is £110.

There have been rumors of Starfield coming to PlayStation 5 before it even arrived in 2023. Those rumors have continued as Xbox began porting more of its catalog to other platforms. Xbox and Bethesda, a company that has been owned by Microsoft since 2021, have even released Bethesda-developed RPGs, like Oblivion Remastered, on PlayStation 5. So it always seemed like Starfield on PS5 was going to happen one day. Seems that day will be in April.
