The next Nintendo mini-Direct presentation for the Switch is right around the corner. An Indie World Showcase will air later this week and hopefully bring news of a fresh batch of cool games to give the system a fresh jolt of energy heading into its one-year anniversary.
“Join us tomorrow, March 3 at 6am PT for a new Indie World Showcase!” the company announced on Monday. “Tune in for roughly 15 minutes of news and updates on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.” Hopefully that means it’s short but sweet.
One big game to look out for is Shovel Knight developer Yacht Club’s upcoming Mina the Hollower, an 8-bit homage riffing on both The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Castlevania. It was due out last fall but was delayed as the team does everything it can to polish up what needs to be another decent hit for the long-standing indie team. The second is Neverway, another Zelda-like with pixel art from the artist behind Celeste and music from the composer of Fez and Hyper Light Drifter. Both are slated to come to Switch and other platforms sometime in 2026.
Indie World Showcases tend to have at least one or two really cool surprises, and the Switch 2 could really use some more indie juice right now. The Silksong and Hades 2 post-launch hangover is real.
