Grace from Resident Evil Requiem is my wonderful little sister who has never done anything wrong in her life. But she’s also now got a target on her back for a massive internet roast, specifically for her appearance in a flashback early on in Requiem.
Before Grace became a traumatized FBI agent, she was just a girl who loved to post and be online like the rest of us. We see Grace young, jaded, and sporting black-rimmed glasses before everything got much worse for her in a playable flashback in which her mother, Alyssa Ashcroft, is killed in front of her, and thus she is dragged into the zombie soap opera that is the rest of the Resident Evil franchise. But for a brief moment, we get a glimpse into what she would have been like without bioterrorist intervention. She was just a girl who was probably socially stunted and had niche interests like fanfiction, modding her consoles, and running her Minecraft server with an iron grip. At least that’s the internet’s reading, and I know because I cannot escape the tidal wave of jokes at young Grace’s expense. Here are a few of my favorites:
